Messy DIY and Crafting

{me}

So if you are interested…

I’m a sociology professor by day (and nights & weekends), doing research and teaching about human social behavior.  It’s a job I love, most days.

I also love to make and alter–well, anything.  I’m rather fearless with DIY projects and crafting.  Very little trying, mostly just doing.  There is no rhyme nor reason to what I do next.  If it inspires me, looks interesting, and has messy potential, why not?  I’ve gutted a kitchen to the studs and crocheted booties (not at the same time).  My work is never perfect, nor do I try to achieve perfection.

I also have a flare and uncontrollable desire to throw large, over the top parties.  Halloween is one of my favorites in which I transform the house, serve grotesque-looking food, and host around 80+ people.  My new house is perfect for entertaining and I am just starting to realize its potential.

The Curious Purple Pig was gifted to me by my grandparents when I was 3 years old.
